Haven't really been inspired to post anything Stern related over the years. He’s either so polarizing or it’s just such an inside thing that you’d have to be a dedicated fan.

That said, the show should be extremely entertaining next week because his current man crush Louis C.K. has been accused of abuse and so has George Takei.

Oh yeah, tell @Ronnie to stop being such a cuhnt and take me off block to talk Stern.

    Hit 'em with the Hein!

I'm only in the car 20mins a day in 10min increments and I swear to god I hear the same 10mins from 1 weekday show every single fucking time.

With my job I've listened to all of every episode since the app came out. The show is basically one giant inside joke given that the majority of the comedy is based on events from previous shows. Many non fans can become fans but it requires daily listening for a couple months to become in on the jokes. It's one of the best, most real shows ever.
I still miss Artie like crazy. No one made Howard laugh as hard as he did with his stories and wit.

I would do that, but they make you double pay for the car and app and fuck them for that noise.

Get the app man. All the recent episodes are on demand, commercial free. It's like $60 a year.

During the recession Sirius was struggling and offered lifetime subscriptions, cost was about 2.5 years worth so i took advantage and have only had to dish out money for the app since.

    Why’d you change your opener?

Whether Stern wants to admit or not... the show has gone downhill. I miss Artie.

Yeah but that’s all Artie’s fault.

Personally what I think the show lost in humor it made up for with more interesting/better interviewers/interviewees.

Yeah, it just feels like ass kissing... where he used to ask super weird questions with added humor and cool bits.

@The Great Danton I remember the episode where Howard tried to set up Artie with that one girl who was apparently into him because he was fat and that really pissed him off, then Artie called Howard a pelican. That was the beginning of the end. lol

I also found that his old way of interviewing basically yielded the same information where now it’s still edgier than everyone else but done by someone with the capability to lower their guard and give up information they wouldn’t otherwise.

That’s what Artie says now because he’s bitter as fuck. Sorry Art...you came off as a fat and pathetic fuck lol

The interviews are better now, Stern used to take over interviews with interesting guests without realizing that it wasn't coming off well at all (find the Eminem interview from 99-00 for ultimate cringe). I think the show is much less interesting and funny than it used to be, but I only listed to the show on demand through the Sirius app so it's nice to catch up if I miss a show and I can skip parts I don't like (like the fake agent stuff, which is so so so bad).

It was infinitely better with Artie, and the early Sirius years were phenomenal. It's hard to know how much to blame Howard and others on the show for the Artie downhill slide, but they constantly made fun/poked fun at his drug abuse (even in the present tense) which makes me wonder why they didn't force Artie to take a break and get some help like most employers might do. Either way, I will continue to listen until they go off the air or it becomes unbearable to sit through.

Good points, the Anthony Kiedis interview was so bad it was embarrassing.

I don’t really feel bad for Artie. He put his addiction out there and then proceeded to lie to everyone who tried to help him. They hired a famous junkie and got exactly that.

What's up with Sour shoes' phone connection lately? A little improper modulation.

    Noine

I think that’s on the studio side. Calls were hard to hear today and in recent past.
