See any meteors/shooting stars while out there? The Perseid meteor shower just peaked. We were out last night but didn't see any
We did, but only two. We usually go out to view the Perseid meteor shower on its peak night (I think it was the night of the 11th/morning of the 12th), but we didn’t make it out this year unfortunately.
Not really space related but it’s a pic of the Milky Way and y’all might like it as a phone wallpaper. https://preview.redd.it/17n1xhc19eh51.jpg?auto=webp&s=493e562679ff926aa3294cc56383ff2a9aed8df1

Elons satellite internet, its in beta right now because only a little over 1,000 satellites in orbit so far, but it will eventually cover most of the world with fast (for satellite) internet. Not really intended for people with access to fiber/cable internet, this will be like 150mbps for 99/m, which is amazing for people without much options. I might cancle my order if it takes too long though, not sure how long I will live in this particular spot that I have either cellphone internet with 1 bar or DSL as my options up here in the mountains.
Though the Kit is $500, and I just looked at the app for setting it up since it shows where to point and I need more of a northish view of the sky and my balcony is southish view and this all might be more of a hassle than it is worth for me. But still really freakin cool as long as they dont ruin the night sky.... and all the other companies about to do the same.
Live broadcast of the new Mars rover landing in about 6 minutes! Edit: Meh. Not what I expected. It’s just the mission people talking about what’s going on. Haven’t actually seen any footage of, you know, Mars.
