Same. Astronomy is fascinating. I'll never forget the first time I saw Saturn with my own eye through a telescope. Surreal. Hoping this Atlas comet makes an appearance later this month, but latest reports show it breaking up for some reason.
I remember my times going to an observatory as a Kid, we saw Jupiter and its moons and stripes, saturn and its rings, and then another time at a different one they had a telescope aimed at a ring nebula that was sweet. I work nights in the mountains, but honestly I have not looked at the stars recently!!! Sometimes I get distracted by the milky way when I go out to my car to leave for work, the night sky is absolutely amazing just right outside my door
Do you people remember how fucking amazing comet Hale-Bopp was? I feel like people don't remember it well, I still cannot believe how crazy that shit was.
This guy’s astrophotography channel is pretty cool, IMHO. Check out his monthly “What’s In the Night Sky” videos to see, well, what’s in the night sky that month. Very useful, even if not an astrophotographer. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKxQ3Dx6K95hpLpdJjTRIlg Here’s April:
I liked long ago on tv there was a dude most nights who would tell us what to look for in a short little clip before bed, keep looking up!
Been cloudy here I will vent my frustration at Apple being gigantic assholes and buying out my favorite weather app Dark Sky that I pay a subscription for and they are taking it off Android so they can have it themselves those fucking dickholes ok im done.
Is the the ISS not technically space? Because they’re saying it’s our first time sending astronauts to space since 2011.
First time USA has launched astronauts since shuttle retirement, weve been hitching rides from the Russians since we stopped in 2011
