That’s insane, those people are weird.
Personally, I like Extension so much because Nick's vocals sound as good as his 90s prime. He hasn't sounded that great reggae-wise in a single track since From Chaos. I don't know if Scotch put him through some kind of 311 therapy session but holy shit, he sounds like he did back in their prime on Extension.
Similarly, SA sounds as good as his 90s rap prime on Face in the Wind. Once again, we really haven't had a single track with him sounding that good in that style since FC/SS.
When I first heard those two tracks, I was just in awe. I didn't think I'd hear their vocals that pure and classic again.
Makes me wonder, could they always just bust out vocals like that? I imagine Scotch had to find it within them to do so again.
FITW brought his natural swagger back. Look at his verses on FITW vs. Existential Hero.
EH is SA cosplay. He's bringing it, but it sounds VERY forced and unnatural. Nick actually saves the song for me.
But on FITW, SA is in on full-on organic SA swagger levels. He has the swagger and confidence of Galaxy, but delivered by current SA. It just sounds completely natural, and fantastic.
I love Existential Hero but yeah it does have the new-311 sound vocally (like *almost everything else), basically I just mean I can tell they're older and in their 40s. No complaints really, just vocal age.
But damn, Face in the Wind is a blast from the past sound. It really is nuts how *FitW and *Extension brought out nostalgic vocals of their glory days from SA and Nick.
Now it's my turn to say something that will drop jaws.
I think Face in the Wind, although a good song, is over rated. Great guitar solo. I just don't think it's #1. It's in line with your average SL track.. but not better than my favorites of the last 18 years.. Wildfire and Extension.
Maybe a tad overrated, but it’s still a really good song. Awesome use of SA though and songs with multiple guitar solos is a thing that needs to happen more often.
I think my favorite part of FITW is how the verses switch, first time is Nick singing/SA rap then it's reversed, makes Nick's last verse more powerful for some reason
Yeah, cause that last Nick verse is building to the climax and lyrically it’s like tying the whole point together.
You are what happens in the future when scientists figure out how to take the DNA of nipz and turn it into a human being.
Did they splice in the DNA of a hammerhead?
I think Monday mornin' came like a hammerhead for you brodel
For the love of god, stop w/ the fucking Titty Cough puns!!!!! They're now as lame as the song itself. That's some familia level shit at this point. I want to forget that song exists
Not funny. Why ya gotta do that?
I just wanted you to see through all the jokes and puns, and remember what this band is truly about.
You said you were sick of TTCOF puns, so Rob doubled down on the bulletin board.
He's just explaining why SL is better than Mosaic
Smells like Familia in here now
