I've been on a Sammy Davis Jr. kick. The guy was fucking incredible.
the 1975 kinda sucks... tried listening to music for cars back in 2013, and the vocals drive me insane. how are they so big now?
Because they managed to capture a combination of people who like well-crafted pop music, and left field pop music. And not every song is MFC-esque.
Regarding the MFC EP - are you aware / not a fan of My Bloody Valentine? The "vocals as another instrumental layer" trick that MBV perfected is what I always thought The 1975 was going for on many of their tracks.
yes, but I actually like loveless. maybe it's just the genre, all I know is that chocolate song is the worst and I can't believe the band made it past a 1 hit wonder.
I'm going to see them tonight
I like to listen to these guys from time to time. This track here sounds like they've "cleaned up" their sound a little since their earlier works were a little on the lo-fi side of things. In fact this song sounds a lot like some Tame Impala sort of shit.
I don't know if you posted this ironically, but I fuckin like this song and there's nothing any of you can do about it. "Padrino" and "Nervous In The Alley" from that album still do it for me too.
not ironically, I love smash mouth.
Yeah man, those who can't appreciate at least some of what "The Mouth" does are just putting on a front to seem cool. Fuck 'em.
Smashmouth has the record for for number of times the same song ended up in a movie soundtrack.
I thought we was bros.
Make Yourself is kicking my ass
How about some Hall and Oats? (guilty pleasure)
Why feel guilty about Philly's finest?
This is one of my favorite songs ever. I think I was in the 8th grade when I bought this album on cassette.
