I signed on for a few minutes right before physical therapy.
Never thought twice about it.
Just signed in now out of boredom. Fuck.
This is incredible lol.
I really didn’t see that video before posting. Just saw the same “311 plagiarism” stuff we've been over hundreds of times.
God damn it 311.
Man and I just announced recently that Space and Time has become my favorite 311 song of all time.
I feel so used.
I genuinely posted this from a place of love.
I’m legitimately bummed. I guess I have to give up.
Careful what you wish for. We might get a wedding song X 10.
But in the eeeeeend nothing even maaaaatters.
*i had to update this like 4 times because I never listened to linkin park and didn’t know the actual lyrics.
Anyone can see...
Level 42 forevaaaa
I am lucky enough to have purchased two OCDP kits; one in 1997 and the other in 2000. They are beautiful kits and the nicest I ever played and owned. It's sad what happened to them, and I don't know exactly what the story is. I have heard several different things. One is that the former owner took on way too many orders and couldn't fulfill them, so he sold everything to guitar center to be mass produced in China Another is that they wouldn't fly in custom kits overseas to their endorsees when they were on an international tour. I have also heard the owner (I forget his name and it's pissing me off) had more than enough money and decided just to sell off. Lastly, I also read that once former investors like Chad Sexton and Adrian Young pulled out of the company, it fell apart because they couldn't fund future orders.
I don't know the truth, but that's what I've read over the years. If there ever is a convo 2.0 with drunk Chad, someone please ask him what really happened.
Morning MCs! Have we discovered anymore new songs with questionable origins?
I’m curious if Chad ever plays his old kits/snares.
well, since we’re on the subject, I always thought tranquility’s verses were too close to MIA’s paper planes for comfort. During the instrumental break after the first chorus, I always hear “all I wanna do is (BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM)...” in my head.
Yeah it's pretty similar. It's not exactly note for note but the resemblance is immediately recognizable. There's even a synth line or 2 that's more in the background of Paper Planes that are kind of replicated in Tranquility.
Two Drops In The Ocean
Fuck, I forgot about this one
It’s no different than the bass line in Prisoner which is a widely used pattern. Not really a huge deal. If using scales in music is plagiarism say goodbye to the entire Metal genre
and Blues. and Punk. and Reggae.
How the hell was 311 not at Woodstock 99?
Yeah, the S&T scale doesn’t bug me. If anything, I always thought of it as reusing the sand dollars riff that was repurposed from blizza.
