I watched Freaky last night. It came out last year, it's basically a slasher sort of take on a body swap Freaky Friday type of deal. Vince Vaughn is in it and his casting in this was genius in my opinion. I had heard it was a fun movie in trusted circles and was looking forward to seeing it, but it still exceeded my expectations I had for it.
Going to watch that today. I took your recommendation of Vampires vs the Bronx and enjoyed that. I’ll always like coming of age/band together type movies and that combined a horror aspect. A solid 7 buttery fingers. Reservoir Dogs last night. It had been a few years and will always hold up.
Oh that's cool man. Yeah sometimes I really just like watching those fun movies that aren't going to win any awards or anything but are entertaining and still dip into the horror territory. I haven't seen Reservoir Dogs in a long ass time either, I'm sure that'd be a fun revisit.
Freaky sounds awesome. Speaking of Reservoir Dogs...y’all ever seen Love and a .45? Came out around the same time...no connection but that was an interesting time for movies. Tarantino was building his catalog and I kinda feel like he inspired it.
I’m so glad Sub-Zero is getting so much love in this movie when it’s usually Scorpion. Sub-Zero was always my favourite over Scorpion. I think Reptile was my favourite of all the classic ninjas though. Once Noob Saibot came around though, that was it. Funny enough, he was originally the first Sub-Zero, Bi-Han so in a way, my favourite is still Sub-Zero And that concludes some major nerding out.
If they include Babalities or Friendships in this movie, I will literally shit and piss all over my kitchen floor.
They could find a cool way of doing it too. Like changing a character into a baby to hide them or something? True to the game Fwiw I actually like the OG MK movies...a lot. There is some 90s fun in there. Johnny Cage beating Scorpion and leaving his picture was fucking awesome.
The first MK movie is and always will be a Klassic. My childhood in a nutshell was watching that movie, playing MK II and playing with these action figures with my friends: Oh to be a kid again when the biggest decision in life was to choose what character to play with.
Those are straight up Gi Joe toy clones. 8 points of articulation. Very cool. Fun story. As I aged out of Gi Joe toys my friends and I decided to have one final war. Cobra v Joe. We had collected cherry bombs, m80’s and sparklers for the event. We proceeded to set up all of the characters and vehicles down by our creek and had them holding the fireworks. Then we’d set up the sparklers, as a timer, and you’d try to shoot the sparkler wick before it blew up your character. I wish we had iPhones back then...the slow mo vids of that exploding and the number of “fuuuuuuuuuuucks” recorded would be gold.
Yeah I'm ready to JO to the new MK movie. I haven't played the new MK game but got MKX like the day it was released since that was a few years back when I was just getting back into video games and loved playing the first few MK games back in the day. This movie looks like they've really excelled in making it look and feel more like the actual game in all the best ways.
