Can anyone share their opinion on these amps? What’s the benefit of getting one over a twin reverb or Marshall? To me it almost seems like it’s the best of both of those brands but I’m not sure if it’s too good to be true.

I don't know much about amps. But Misa from Band-Maid swears by Orange. She's my favorite bass player. What she says I agree with!

    Edit: this didn't answer anything.

Orange is cool but they’re pretty unique in terms of sound. I’m looking for something more classic and versatile and I’m hopeful a Mesa could be the answer.

Misa also recommends keeping Jim Beam on your amps!

The Mesa Boogie Lonestar is what you want.

I’ve owned a couple mesa’s when I was an active musician. Had a rocket 4 forty, combo with 4 tens with built in tremolo and lead boost. Incredible amp for blues rock and reggae. I moved to the nomad 100 half stack because I also played the heavier genres and it had an expanded EQ for more diverse sounds and a dark chunk. Don’t know what kind of sound you’re looking for cause the Mesa models vary greatly but they are high quality with unfortunately the price to match.

I personally have always wanted a twin reverb. My buddy has an evil twin which I’d consider making an offer for but I don’t play much anymore.

I have a Mark V. It is awesome, but I had to get some vintage tubes out in, in order to make it sound truly great. The stock tubes sucked.

The mark V can make just about any tone, except it is missing the deep power of a triple rectifier... but honestly, as long as you have a loud bass player along side you, I don’t think you must have that deep triple R sound. The clean tone on the mark V is just as Good as twin reverb if not better.

I would also look at a diamond amp.. they’re awesome and the price on them keeps dropping as they lose popularity.

the secret to getting the perfect sound out of an amp is putting vintage tubes in it.. ones manufactured in the 70’s. Old American made tubes almost never fail either because they were engineered so masterfully.

I’m looking at Diamond stuff on YouTube rn. Sounds awesome - Tim used these at one point right? I admittedly was never super interested in amps/rigs until recently.

Yeah, the best diamond amps that Tim used, in my opinion, were the spec op and the phantom. He played these amps 07’ — 10’

they’re virtually the same amp. He used a different diamond amp in 2012 that I didn’t really care for as much... I think
    It was the nitrox
