Enjoy! You’ll love the “greatest snow on earth”
We’re in the middle of a storm cycle that has already dropped about two feet in Park City. Another 2.5 feet is on the way. Enjoy!
Enjoy the trip. You are in for a treat! If you are looking for some fun stuff to do when you are not on the slopes, you should check out the Midway Ice Castles or Homestead Crater (which is a hot spring inside an enclosed caldera). Both are like 20 minutes from Park City.
That looks amazing! There is so much new snow that it sounds like they closed Alta and Snowbird for the whole day today to get caught up on avalanche control.
Thank you! Appreciate the tips. Will 100% hit up the hot spring.
As @Brizz alluded above, It is snowing so much in Little Cottonwood Canyon that avalanches are occurring constantly. Alta and Snowbird ski areas didn’t open yesterday, and "interlodge" has been in effect for over 24 hours with no end in sight yet (this is where the avalanche danger is so severe that leaving buildings is prohibited by law). This is the most recent 20 inches of snow Snowbird received. (At least 78 inches of snow has fallen in the past 5 days and probably more due to delays in reporting the recent snow.)
Just make sure to call ahead and make a reservation. They have a strict limit on the amount of people. It is actually really nice, because it almost feels like you have the place to yourself.
Bent my pole
Got a week off to ski! Aspen this weekend!
Probably just one day there....haven't decided which mountain yet
We ended up not being able to get a reservation but appreciate the tip for a future trip.
Returned from our Park City trip last night and had a great time! Great snow on Saturday, but it made for a crowded mountain. It cleared out Sunday and Monday. Shot above is from our lunch break on day two.
Feels like spring skiing here now! not really much snow forecasted either
But havin fun getting some major speed on the groomers
Yesterday was 40 degrees and sunny, so I skipped half a day of work to take my son skiing.
Nice! Which ski area is that?
All of you are going to end up as Missing 411 cases.
Nordic Valley. It is a pretty small resort, but it is half an hour from my house and kids ski free.
Going up to Snowmass today
First time at a big ski resort, absolutely amazing
Some great views too
