Great memories of buying on release day at Best Buy and listening by myself and reading through the booklet a thousand times while listening to it on my parents system as they were out of town. Probably jerked it after that...

It depends if your mom goes to sleep a lot earlier than your dad. If so, he had to TCB.

Listening to From Chaos now and it’s taking me back to 2001. I can remember exactly how I felt back then, very cathartic...I love this album so damn much.

This album's the shit. Was listening to it the other day and it's just a great album. It gets shunned because it has YGW as the opener and Amber on it. But the reality is Amber's not a bad song at all (just doesnt rightfully represent 311 imo) like fucking TTCOF is, and you just gotta replace YGW with Bomb the Town or just start with Sick Tight. I'm also probably one of the only people that actually likes YGW haha

A lot of people say the last '90s-esq' album from 311 is Soundsystem, but I disagree, I think From Chaos was. It's their last 90s hurrah, to me. Evolver is their first album that doesn't sound 90s, it has a 2000s transformation feeling to it. But FC, is fucking dope.....SA rap and blonde Nick still at it.

Also I think it might be my favorite sound production-wise of their albums, it's arguably their best in that regard.

.....just wanted to give it props, it's under appreciated when people (not necessarily in this forum) talk 311 albums.

.......Can't sleep so I'll rank the songs fav to least fav haha:

    1. Uncalm
    2. I Told Myself
    3. From Chaos
    4. You Wouldn't Believe
    5. Hostile Apostle
    6. Sick Tight
    7. Bomb the Town
    8. Wake Your Mind Up
    9. I'll Be Here Awhile
    10. Amber
    11. You Get Worked
    12. We Do It Like This
    13. Full Ride
    14. Champagne

It's kinda hard to rank 1min instrumentals with them but Will the World and Dreamland are dope, honestly they might rank fairly high.

I don't really dislike any of the 16 tracks

I always liked You Get Worked. Amber wouldn't be so bad had it not been a single. Funny how just being a single ruins a tune. It's an ok song.

I'm always in my head like.. beh nul nent.. beh nul nennle nent.. If that makes sense.

Amber's just a song that gets old pretty fast, it's not something I can listen to over and over again. But I like giving it a spin every now and again, it's not a bad song.

Maybe why it's so successful on the radio? Because you feel like you get all you need of it in one take? But in a good way. Other reasons like being a love song and easy to know lyrics are huge factors of course......like pretty much any song on the radio is.

I was going to like your ranking for listing Uncalm at #1. But ranking Champagne last made me unlike.

Yeah Champagne just doesn't really do it for me. It's very poppy, and pop is a genre that I'm not very keen to. It's not bad, I'll listen to it. But honestly, all of IBHA, Amber, YGW, WDILT, Full Ride, and Champagne are songs I don't mind but have to be in the mood for. But when I'm simply in a FC sound mood, I like listening through them all.

Wake Your Mind Up and above on my list I pretty much always like to jam to.

I don't think you're allowed to say you don't like pop music, but also you the word "keen".

It's not like Champagne is one of my absolute favs, but, I think it's a good song. To me it's like Amber's "cool brother" or something.

Love From Chaos. This album is the reason Im here. I was a very young teenager. So many emotions. This is what started my 311 addiction. Enough said.

Hostile Apostle's dope, I wish I'd hear it at shows more. I think i saw it once, but that was a 311 day maybe.

    Very underrated 311 song

I think I also heard hostile apostle one lucky night at a show. I always figured it was a song about self help gurus that were simply hustling and taking advantage of people in need and perhaps Nick was singing from personal experience... maybe the church of Scientology tried to recruit him or something

I think the general consensus was that it was about pop artists of the time releasing negatively themed music though... I dunno.. marylin Manson?

I think it's definitely a response to the current state of popular alternative rock at the time. Theres so many themes and lyrics that suggest just that

Skulls and piercings and a will to destroy. Just the negative hard rock popular at the time; Manson, Korn, Limp Bizkit (will to destroy 'Break Stuff'). That's just one example
