What kind of regular exercise or workout stuffs do you do, if any? I don't do nearly enough cardio, which is one thing I really need. But in light of my heart issues I did some research and discovered that the heart eats lactic acid like fuel. So I've decided to start doing push-ups again. It's helping! But I'm up to 50/60+ a day without getting sore anymore, so I'll need something stronger to have the same effect.
Yesterday I hiked at least 8 miles round trip up a steep mountain, today I worked 8 hours lifting stuff then did an hour of cardio and ab workouts. I keep active
I do a mix of bike riding, various types of home cardio most often HIIT type workouts using Fitnessblender videos, however with my recent ankle issues I've been doing more low impact cardio less HIIT, and light weights.
Last fall I tried 3 times to summit mount sopris and failed so im working up to do that when the snow clears. I have wanted to hike that for decades
Only biking or walking in spring/summer/fall - walking more of late due to the sun feeling especially awesome and so more time under it. Also free weights for each muscle group at least once per week; nothing crazy, typically 12-16 sets per each major. Always aim to hit them all twice but rarely succeed. Also picked up intermittent fasting over the past year; would recommend that to ANYONE. True gamechanger. Diet is still mostly crap, but it feels good knowing this provides at least a small buffer against that. I like my junk food and am not quite ready to vanquish that habit.
I walk from my bed to my desk (working from home). I occasionally walk to the fridge. Or downstairs when something is delivered. Then back to my desk then back to bed.
Just bought a bike so I'll be doing that a lot more. Rode 9 miles today. I was exhausted by the end of it.
One summer I got into biking and would do about 30 miles on a good day....on very flat land. Good start! I just ordered some new trail running shoes
I've been up and down with my exercise routine for a while to be honest. I was dealing with some pain issues and doctors scratching their heads about it for the last 2 years and had tried to lay low during that time. But over the last 6 months or so I have picked back up and am doing pretty well. On a typical day I walk my dog in the morning, then around 10am after a daily work meeting I have at that time I go out for another short walk break (15-20mins). After work is over I walk my dog again. After that, on most days, I try to pick some kind of activity to do. Whether it's yet another walk (a long one, hehe) , going on my bicycle, mowing the lawn (big yard, gets a shitload of steps), or lifting weights. I have not been lifting weights since the gyms closed down but that's one of those things I've kind of been hit or miss with me due to my issue I originally mentioned. So basically I just try to make focused efforts on not just sitting on my ass all day since I work at home. I don't eat like total shit but have a few improvements to make to be more consistent. I really would like to focus and lose about 10-15lbs, that'd be great. It's all on me.
I'm working my way back to 200+. I've always done them in bigger sets though, with at least one of them being a "super set" where I just go until total muscle failure. I'm back up to 100 a day, but the most I've been doing at a time is 30. I can tell my body is still not really used to this activity because my shoulders, chest plate, lower back, and wrists are all sore in a "I've done something bad" kind of way. Lol
