I just think it's a little hokey, I don't know. I don't listen to it.
3. Inner Light Spectrum
6. Use of Time
7. The Continuous Life
8. No Control
12. Stealing Happy Hours
@Iceman i love Starshines, but it felt weird to not include certain classics like Beautiful Disaster and The Continuous Life. I love No Control, What Was I thinking, and Rub a Dub too but it didn't feel right to put them in over certain songs, even which I don't like as much. I like Starshines->Strangers a lot too but there's no way I had room for it.
I included Writer's Block Party too because it's such a unique song. I like the Nick and SA split of it, and the pure instrumental jam ending.
Great list and taste. You have a lot of my favorite Transistor songs on it - Electricity, Jupiter, No Control, Everything, Prisoner, Borders, Transistor, Rub a Dub. (then again I guess I could say the same for a lot of these lists haha, but yours stuck out to me)
Like I said for mine I chose some of the 'classics' over personal favorites. Like I decided to cut No Control because it's a very similar song as Jupiter, despite both being of my all time favorites.
Borders as the opener, not bad, like that.
Another great Reddit post in regards to 'Transistor':
"What they’re talking about is the truth of life. If everyone believed it, there wouldn’t be religious arguments anymore.
So when a Christian prays, talks with God, feels Jesus’ love in their heart, etc. they feel a warmth, a tingle, an inner feeling that something good is happening, dopamine, the whole bit. It’s the same feeling Eastern meditation evokes. You can go on to every religion. So religion doesn’t matter since everyone’s is the same at the core.
Looking at it scientifically we know about electromagnetism. The electricity that’s going through the whole universe, through every molecule on earth. We are nothing but organic earth creatures. So can’t be argued. To bring them together; in each religion they have their own set of beliefs of achieving their eternal goals. It’s all basically “don’t be a dick”, be a good person, doing the right thing, caring, forgiveness, lack of judgment, etc. Being positive. That’s the key. When doing that we are also programming our brains and bodies. Which allows more electricity to flow through. Like a Buddhist achieving Nirvana, becoming pure electricity. Being that positive. We are Transistors, we can program our own selves to control our electricity and connect all humans to combine our powers. If everyone flipped their switches on it’d be unimaginable what we could achieve. We’d evolve."
Outtakes shouldn't be eligible but whatever
Good to see some Light Years on peoples list here. Trippy/weird side of Transistor for sure
WBP is definately one of the great jams thats for sure. It was Lemming that had my attention the most, one of my favorite songs, im still glad we got these jems from Transistor even though neither made my 12 song tracklist :/ very difficult mang
I'll give this a try. It's hard to leave any songs off this masterpiece, but here goes.
In no particular order:
Use Of Time
Rub A Dub
I can do a pretty good job cutting it down to 15. Don’t think I could cut any deeper.
2. Continuous Life
9. Beautiful Disaster
12. Inner Light Spectrum
