Whos got some KBS?
Kick Back Sista
Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout
Have you heard? 311 has their own beer! It's called 311 Amber Ale.
Its pretty tasty, bout to crack one open right meow
I did not get any KBS. Didn't feel like going on the hunt....straight lazy lol
I hear you. Im so over the hunt sometimes
I'm pretty much completely over it. I have not been spending much money on beer at all lately. Just drinking what I have and what Will keeps sending me.
The Southern Tier Thick Mint is really really good
It's good. ST makes some good beers for sure. Local-ish brewery for me.
Mint stouts are still hit or miss for me. This gypsy brewery near me, Nowhere in Particular, did a nice one recently, but the mint was very restrained.
I don't see myself getting this, because most Southern Tier stuff seems so completely unsubtle. Which is fine, when you want those flavors. Choklat is nice because if I want a ridiculously thick and sweet stout, I'm getting that. But they often make things I like unlikeable. I hate Pumking (heresy to pumpkin drinkers, I know) and don't care for Warlock either. Creme Brulee was too sweet.
I had a few other shrugs with them. So I'm kind of tired of paying $10 to drink a bomber's worth of overkill.
Okay... I drink alot of beer (not domestics), but I have never heard of any of the beers you guys are talking about.
Where are you from?
I've found beer can be a sometimes ostracizing thing because it involves a lot of "we have this, you don't!" and "you have this but can't find it!". When grew up in NY I didn't drink beer because I wasn't fully into it (Sparks and Michelob Ultra get at me!), and NY mostly had Brooklyn Beer to offer. Moving to Colorado was like the beer equivalent of a gay teenager moving from Branson to NYC.
Now the boroughs are killing it with OtherHalf, Interboro, and a few others I've had from over there. Sucks that I live in NY, but that's still like 7 hours away from me, lol.
The hunt does get old, but I thought this year's KBS was REALLY good out of the bottle. Easily the best I've had (going back to '13).
Pretty much everything I've had from Other Half has been stupid good.
Pacific Northwest. Lots of good microbrews & breweries around here, and I'm always looking to try some new undiscovered gem in terms of a craft beer... But never heard of KBS, Southern Tier Thick Mint, Other Half, etc.
But maybe I've got some stuff over here that you guys have never heard of.
I randomly got one yesterday without even searching. Looking forward to opening it!
Youve never heard of Founders or Southern Tier? Pretty big breweries. Founders is all over the PNW and Southern Tier distributes to Oregon
