Edit: Will Smith hit a 3-run HR off Will Smith to take the lead.
Game Seven. Both LCS
Congrats @jukeboxgroove. I'm rooting for your Dodgers to beat the stupid Rays and get it done this year.
I seriously can't believe it
2 wins away. I cant believe it.
Looking at some the Dodgers numbers this morning and it's pretty crazy. This is by far the best, most complete, well rounded team theyve had in this 8 year run.
Mookie Betts doing things only Babe Ruth has done. Corey Seager hitting an NLCS record 5 HRs. Austin Barnes, our worst hitter, executes a perfect squeeze bunt then hits a homerun later, 2nd time in history. Theres others, but here's the standouts
That last one is the definition of CLUTCH
Holy shit. What the fuck just happened?!
Edit: This... (Skip ahead to about 2:30)
Wellness check for @jukeboxgroove
What a great ending to a World Series game. That's the first time one has ended with a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 9th while losing with 2 outs since... Gibby in '88.
This is taking years off my life
Congrats, @jukeboxgroove. They were due. They played really well in that Series, except that last play in game 4.
Edit: WTF? Turner got pulled for a positive ‘rona test in the middle of the World Series clincher game?! 2020 never stops delivering. That would've been an interesting development if the Dodgers didn't win the Series tonight.
This feels AMAZING!!!! I'm on cloud fucking nine right now. It doesnt seem real
*This only counts as 37.04% of a real World Series Title.
Good for Kershaw after all his postseason struggles.
I was impartial in rooting, but I take some pleasure in TB beating themselves with the relief pitching overthinking I'm so sick of watching.
Mookie Betts rules, so him being integral to the winning run is nice.
I should forever hate LA as a Mets fan for (lolz days of) 88, but I have matured slightly since I was 8 years old. Also, Orel Hershiser forever is the man.
While this was an odd season (maybe the most polite usage of "odd" ever), all the teams were in the same hellhole. Instead of comparing the best teams in an apples to apples situation in a normal season, this year was more crab apples to crab apples.
So as dumb as it is to think this way, I still am kind of "ehhhh" on trophies in any 2020 sport. Though I'm sure no one rooting for a team that won this year cares. They won, and they are arguably more interesting. "Oh your team won in some random year that blends into every other year? That's cute."
And yeah, Kershaw was due. I admit I found myself amused by the inevitable Kershaw playoff drama every year. But it was laughing at the fact that the situation kept happening, not at Kershaw. He's amazing and seems like a legit good guy.
